World War II is, to many American citizens, a distant memory -- or in some cases, nothing more than an excerpt from a high school history book. First-hand accounts from our veterans who honorably served are becoming rarer with each passing day as time and age wrenches them from our midst.

Rarer still are museums where World War II history can be experienced first-hand. Most displays feature preserved aircraft that will never feel air under their wings again, accompanied by a few paragraphs on it's role in WWII -- a mere footnote to it's heritage.

History Flight aims to change the way WWII aviation history is presented. By embarking on a regional tour annually with three of the most important types of World War II aircraft: The North American B-25 Mitchell, the North American AT-6 / SNJ Texan, and the Boeing N2S Stearman, History Flight brings history to local airports for people to experience in their own communities. Instead of being only available for viewing on the ground, History Flight aircraft come alive and offer the ultimate in first-hand experience with WWII history: the opportunity to fly aboard one!

Each aircraft and flight experience is unique and our guests have the choice of which program fits their taste. Additionally, proceeds from each flight go directly toward our efforts to research, uncover, and help return our Missing In Action servicemen from World War II from the distant lands where they paid the ultimate sacrifice in fighting for our freedom.

The History Flight Tour Schedule for 2010 will be based from January through May at the Deland, Florida Municipal Airport, with excursions to other Florida locations as noted in the schedule below. From May through October, the Barnstormer Tour will include visits to Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte, Dallas, Raleigh, Long Island, Denver, Indianapolis, Chicago/Milwaukee/Racine, Oshkosh, Pittsburgh, Hartford, and Philadelphia.
