 For a whole new way to experience flying aboard a World War II warbird, History Flight, Inc. invites you to join us aboard the North American B-25H Mitchell "Barbie III" as a part of The Bomber Crew flight experience package. A brand-new experience for History Flight enthusiasts, the B-25H allows a group of passengers to completely immerse themselves in the sensations of flying as a crew aboard one of the most famous Medium Bomber aircraft of WWII!
Made famous for the Doolittle Raid on Japan (read more here), the B-25 was a true workhorse during WWII, fighting in every theater of war and flying in multiple Allied air forces. It's combination of speed, range, firepower, and maneuverability made it a favorite of pilots and crews.
The B-25H Mitchell "Barbie III" is the last flying H-Model B-25 in the world and is the only B-25 in the skies that features the unique 75mm cannon in the nose. For true warbird enthusiasts, the opportunity to fly aboard "an H" is an ultimate experience. The B-25H "Barbie III" is a new addition to the History Flight, Inc. fleet for 2009!
The Bomber Crew Flight package includes an introductory briefing prior to boarding and a full 30 minutes in flight including taxi, takeoff and landing.
For our two crew-guests in the forward compartment, you'll be seated right behind the pilot and co-pilot and will have a thrilling view of the entire flight from startup to shutdown with your own side windows and a full view of all pilot operations.
Our four crew-guests in the rear compartment will be able to explore the gun positions in the waist section with their large windows for sightseeing, and will also have the opportunity to climb to the extreme rear of the aircraft to sit in the tail gunners compartment with it's 270 degree backward view of the landscape passing under the position called "the loneliest spot on the crew" by gunners.
